I was thinking the other day about how hard it is to find good seo and sem related content. I know that when I started it was really hard to find good reliable sites. To help out people new in seo I have created a seo search engine by using Google Coop. You can find it in the sidebar right here on werebu.com.

Since this is the first version (0.001b) there are “only” 69 seo related blogs and forums and a couple of major seo sites. There is a lot of info there so I encourage you to a couple of searches. You will be amazed. I know that I was. I have created it in such way that it searches all the web but concentrates itself on these 69 sites.

More sites will be add every day so that the searches get more and more relevant.

Also, i have updated my Tools, Services, Links and Author subpages so there is something for you to read :)

I hope you will find new content useful. I would like to hear your thoughts about my seo search engine.

    Marketing blog top 20

Filed under: Marketing blog challenge by Sasha on February 22, 2007

When I checked the SERPs this morning I couldn’t believe that my marketing blog was gone. I couldn’t find it anywhere. I thought that it was sandbox or some new algorithm that removed me. I was shocked when I realized that I haven’t vanished, I got into top 20!

You can try to find me by entering “marketing blog” at Google. This blog should be between 16th and 18th position. I think that it is pretty amazing thing….

One more thing that surprised me was that I’m finally number one if you enter “marketing blog challenge“. This really made my day. I see that my seo skills are better than I thought they were :)

Thank you very much for your links…

Marketing blog challenge - position 75

Filed under: Marketing blog challenge by Sasha on February 21, 2007

    Hello everybody,

I’m proud to say my marketing blog challenge is doing very well and that I got into top 100. My position for the key phrase “marketing blog” varies from 71 to 80 but on most data centers it is 75. If you enter “marketing blog challenge” you’ll find me at the position number two.

Since I’ve been at the same position for about two days I’m starting my link building campainge today. Till now I was using simple techniques like forum signatures and some link exchange but now I’m going to do some article submission to improve my backlinks.

I also checked my competitors and I believe that next few months will be all hard work to beat them. Guys, watch your back(links) :)

    Thank you for your time.

Marketing blog challenge - near top 100

Filed under: Marketing blog challenge by Sasha on February 19, 2007

I just wanted to inform you that my marketing bog challenge is now getting really serious. I one week went from being nowhere to near top 100. Right now my marketing blog holds positions between 121 and 130 at Google for a key phrase “marketing blog” while it is number 2 or three if you enter “marketing blog challenge“.

I will give Google some time to decide where should I rank since my positions change day after day and I’m constantly getting better rankings at SERPs. I hope that this trend will continue and that my marketing blog challenge will be a success.

Wish me luck until my next update.

    Thanks

p.s. now is the time to be generous with incoming links ;)

    Another marketing blog update

Filed under: Marketing blog challenge by Sasha on February 14, 2007

Well my rankings are moving too fast so I need to write every 12 hours to keep up with this situation. Not that I’m complaining about that :)

I think that this is the real thing now since my marketing blog reached a position 176. Since the key phrase “marketing blog” returns between 150,000,000 and 221,000,000 results I believe that my current rankings are pretty good. One thing that worries me are the supplemental results. Many of my pages return supplemental results and I really need to deal with this… Any suggestions are welcome. I think that more “quality” links will do the trick together with some on site changes.

To keep things fair here is another screen shot.

So the marketing blog challenge continues. I have to find a new competitor whose site I’m going to analyze but I’m not going to do that until I get some stable rankings. That means that all of you who are reading this blog will have to wait a day or two for Google to put me somewhere they think I need to be.

Thank you for incoming links ;)
