5 search queries that make my day
Filed under: Marketing blog challenge by Sasha on January 30, 2008
Yet again I have neglected my blog like I used to do before and this is not good. Doing many projects and college at the same time is not so fun when you don’t make a tight schedule and devote your free time to your projects every day.
Now that I have excused myself, and yes, that was an excuse, let me tell you what I have found on my webmaster tools today. I haven’t checked that for a week or two and this is what I found:
- Marketing blog – position 19
- Affiliate marketing blog – position 21
- Marketing videos – position 8
- Online marketing blog – position 33
- Marketing by video – position 5
I’m not going to reveal other search engine queries I rank for, this 5 are just enough to make me and you happy. I know it is not the world’s greatest rankings but they are pretty good considering I haven’t done almost any search engine optimization for this blog.

Marketing blog changes?
Filed under: Marketing blog challenge by Sasha on December 3, 2007
Well folks, I am thinking about changing the content on this marketing blog a bit to attract more visitors of different interest. As you can see I have been doing some weird posts from time to time but what I am really think about is writing something like iphone review or any other gadget review together with some technological subject since I like this stuff as much as marketing.
I am hoping to get some feed back about my ideas since I am not sure will it do me good or not. I will surely decide in the next few days but I do hope it will be the right decision.
Thanks for reading me, till the next post stay cool.
Marketing blog back in top 30

Remember marketing blog challenge? I bet David from webinknow.com does. I started almost a year ago and during that time my marketing blog came from nowhere to top 20 in Google for the key phrase “marketing blog”.
Last couple of months was really bad and I wasn’t even in the top 1000 for marketing blog which made me pretty angry but it also made me realize that I was doing something wrong. Boy did learn something pretty important and that is: Never change your TITLE element on your homepage! I knew it before and yet again I have done a mistake that could cost me a lot of time and patience.
I wrote a short article and I decided to put the Marketing Blog in my title element and two days after that my blog is at position number 25 for that same key phrase.
Hope we all have learned something from this. Google luck to everybody.

Marketing blog challenge – the progress

When marketing blog challenge began I told to a friend of mine that if I get into top 50 on Google I will start my own seo company. Now I don’t feel so enthusiastic about being in top 50, I’m not even satisfied with being in top 20. Right now I feel greedy and I won’t be happy until I get into top 5. Only then I can say that I’m a seo expert.
Back then when the challenge started, I didn’t feel so confident but today things are radically different. I’m sure in my seo knowledge and I’m sure that if invest more time getting into top 5 shouldn’t be a problem.
I know that many people who start doing seo think that there is no way to be on top of Google but the fact is that a lot of knowledge about seo and search engines is available to the general public so to be successful the only thing you need to have is time and some money to pay for your hosting bills.
Seo is a wonderful game and it can bring you lot’s of fun if you give your best effort but it can also make you a lot of money if you are patient enough.
Marketing blog – second month

There was a quite a while since I last wrote anything at this marketing blog. Actually I wrote an article about PayPal but I haven’t published it yet. I want to make sure that it is really good because it will be submitted to a large number of directories and I don’t people to say that I can’t write.
So two months have passed since starting marketing blog challenge and I’m very happy with the results so far. If you enter “marketing blog” at Google you’ll see this marketing blog between 13th and 16th position, depending on datacenter used. I think that I’m still nowhere at MSN and Yahoo but I to be honest I haven’t checked those in a while so forgive me for being lazy. Last time I checked my marketing blog was number one on Google, MSN and Yahoo for a key phrase “marketing blog challenge” and that is the way it should be.
About visitors. I don’t get so many, mostly because I have really done any marketing except a couple of link exchanges. I’m not really should when should I start so for now I don’t expect any large number of visits. Increase in visitors should be coming next month if I do my job correctly.
Although the number of visits is not that large I’m happy to see that I get visitors from Google, around 30% of overall visits. Some of them entered query strings like “marketing blog” or “marketing blog challenge” but some entered really strange queries which I thought nobody would ever enter.
