Filed under: Link building, Marketing by Sasha on May 8, 2008

They always hide something from you don’t they? :)

Below is a list of 8 wordpress plugins that will save you a lot of time and we all know that time is money and you don’t want to waste money do you?

Akismet- Akismet is the real king of spam catching and there is no valid reason for not using it. After your blog reaches more then one visitor per day you will notice comment spam and this is when you’ll realize Akismet is a tool that you must have.

All in One SEO Pack - This plugin will make basic and couple of advanced SEO changes to your blog and will boost you search engine rankings. It is pretty customizable so you shouldn’t have any issues with it. You can download it here.

Anarchy Media Player - Since Wordpress 2.5 you really don’t need this plugin but it made my life easier before it so I have included it here.

Google Sitemaps - To make your life simpler and to help Googlebot out you should use this plugin. It creates a Google sitemap and it can be tweaked the way you want it. Download Google Sitemaps plugin.

Got Banners - Take a look at the right sidebar. Plugin which rotates those images is Got Banners and it is really simple to use. You can find it here.

Ozg’ Better Feed - We all should have realized the importance of RSS feeds and this plugin makes it easy to create custom “addons” to your RSS feed. You can grab it here.

Show Top Commentators - It is good to be thankful so treat your commenter with a backlink. This plugin is hidden here.

Wordpress Automatic Updgrade - I have already said all the good words about this plugin so grab it here right now.

These are not all plugins activated on this blog but i believe that they are the most important.

What are your favorite Wordpress Plugins?

Search query with 14,020,000,000 results, can you be number one?

Filed under: Marketing by Sasha on March 22, 2008

There was discussion the other day between me and a friend of mine about what defines the saturated market online. I won’t go into details but my vision of saturation is simple; if you can’t get into top 10 on ALL search engines then the market is too saturated. When you read something like that the first question that comes to your mind is how to know if you can get into top 10 or not.

On of the first factors most of us will consider is certainly the number of results for a given search query. Some other factors include results with AllInTitle attribute, number of links Yahoo shows for top 10 results etc.

We all know what are the most saturated markets (pharmacy, poker, dating) but what about non profit keywords with a lot of results? What do I mean by that, well try typing in “a” as a search string into Google. There are 14,020,000,000 results. The biggest result set I have ever seen. If there is a query with more results please tell me.

So I wonder. Can you rank for this keyword? (or should I say keyletter :) ).

I think that if a seo company could rank number one it could be a good proof to their clients.

    What do you think?

    Online success

Filed under: Marketing by Sasha on November 11, 2007

I was thinking last night is it really possible to succeed online if you work all by yourself with no initial money to invest. I believe that it is possible but the definition of success varies from one man to another. I believe that success doesn’t necessarily mean making a lot of money, it also includes being happy in your private life, love life in a word, and you need to be a complete person, not just another rich idiot.

Since this blog is about marketing and not “how to improve yourself blog” I’m going to share with you my plan on making money online, the rest of self improvement is up to you

So if you have just started doing business online I suggest that you learn good English?. This is a must if you want to make a lot of money since you’ll need to write a lot. First thing that you need are hosting and a domain name. Start a blog of any kind, something that you love to write about. Get some free links with forum signatures, blog commenting etc. After the next Google PR update you should have a blog with little traffic and a PageRank of let’s say 3. This is enough to get you started. Register with “get paid to blog” companies and write sponsored posts. This alone should make you between 200 and 1000 $. Lets say you make 500$, this is a lot? Nope, repeat this process. Create couple of general blogs and make money the same way like you did with your first two. Oh, by the way, this process is not so fast, you’ll need to invest two hours per day for a couple of months but it should make you around 1500-2500$ which is a good start up capital.

Since writing articles can be though you should now hire other people to write normal and paid articles for you. Finding quality article writers is not so though so go and look for them. I assume that you have hired paid writers so now you can consider your blogs auto updating since you are not doing any work with them.

This is the right time to make a god investment. My suggestion is to buy an established website that is making around 100$ per month. This kind of website should cost something between 500 and 1000$. Let’s say you pay 1000$ for it, now pay your article writer to write new articles for your new site every day. You should also concentrate on your SEO and marketing. If you manage to get your site up to 200$ per month you are on your way on becoming successful online entrepreneur…

    Good luck

    Pager Rank update

Filed under: Marketing by Sasha on October 27, 2007

Yes, it happened. Google has started a Page Rank update. The last one was “who knows when” and I was really looking forward to this update until I saw what Google has done. Great blogs like www.connectedinternet.co.uk and www.onemansblog.com got Page Rank of 3 and 4. If you look at your Google toolbar you will notice that my blog also has a Page Rank of 4 after this update but I am sure that the number and quality of links pointing to my site is much lower that to John’s blog…

What have we learned from this update? Nothing really. All I can say that Google is doing some weird stuff and that they have really surprised me with this one….

    Weird Google…..

How to make a brand from a trademark

Filed under: Marketing by Sasha on October 1, 2007

In our rapidly developing world there is not enough to establish a trademark that will guarantee your firm or corporation a great success and your employees a lot of benefits. You are to do your utmost to turn your trademark into a brand, a mirror of your services and the products you offer. To realize how important your trademark can finally become – sometimes it takes ages especially if you are not able to define the ultimate goal and you can not predict the market development as well as your potential clients’ needs.

To find out what is the best strategy of creating a brand that will be working for you for years you are to define how you are going to make it visible, to make it necessary for our everyday life and to convince everyone that without this or that product, without this or that service their well-being can not be possible, their success will be limited, their life will be dull and boring. Anyway, there is no working guide how to build a brand – all you can use is just an adoption of the previous successful marketing strategies of creating a brand: business plans, business logics and so on. This is the right way of doing business and promoting your services, though sometimes it is better to delegate this bunch of work to companies that are ready to promote your type of business, whatever you are involved in. This is also clear and practically everyone is aware of the special marketing agencies that can offer you direct marketing, search engine marketing, net marketing and etc. At the same time there are companies that can help you to promote your brand in quite another way.

Every one of us has got promotional items once or many times in our life. What are the promotional items? Frankly speaking these are just ordinary things like pens, packs, bookmarks or a bottle opener with some logo on them. These are the logos of different companies that have ordered such kind of tiny presents for everyone in order to make their trademark popular. This is another kind of promotion and it is not just an effective way to make your brand visible but to remain on your feet as well. It’s not a secret that sooner or later world-known brands are becoming more and more unpopular due to an increasing number of competitors that offer the same services, that sell the same goods cheaper, provide their services faster and more qualitatively.

There is also one more important thing: a good chief executive officer understands that in order to raise or to keep the corporative spirit of his employees they are to be presented with some kind of corporate gifts, again, with different custom mugs, promotional apparel, whatever! The main thing is to make them happy, to make them realize that they are THE TEAM that can perform absolutely anything if they collaborate. And they WILL collaborate successfully. Such small things cost minimum but with an imprinted logo of your company they can convert it to a world-known corporation and make your trademark a BRAND!
